In its unwavering commitment to forge a path toward a resilient and innovative public health landscape for the African continent, the annual International Conference on Public Health in Africa (CPHIA) stands as a beacon of progress, facilitated by the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC).

Following a resounding success of its past editions—a virtual congregation in 2021 and an in-person gathering in Kigali, Rwanda, in 2022—CPHIA 2023 marks the third iteration of this monumental conference. Set to be hosted by the Zambian Ministry of Health, the conference will grace the vibrant city of Lusaka, Zambia, from November 27th to 30th.

It hope to bring together individuals from academic, research and government institutions; national, regional, community and private sector firms; as well as researchers, front-line health workers and advocates in an effort to share perspectives and research findings in public health while ushering in a new era of strengthened scientific collaboration and innovation across the continent.

CPHIA 2023 will navigate nine plenary sessions, numerous parallel and abstract sessions, and an array of official side events. Each facet of this grand assembly will encapsulate the essence of breaking barriers and amplifying Africa’s role as a global health influencer.

This year, under the theme, “Breaking Barriers: Repositioning Africa in the Global Health Architecture,” CPHIA 2023 will navigate nine plenary sessions, numerous parallel and abstract sessions, and an array of official side events. Each facet of this grand assembly will encapsulate the essence of breaking barriers and amplifying Africa’s role as a global health influencer.
