The West African Health Organization (WAHO) has donated 10 Suzuki TF 125 motorbike valued at GHS 160,000 to the Ministry of Health last Wednesday in Accra.
The two stroke engine motorbikes will be handed over to the Mental Health Authority (MHA) and Traditional Medicine Authority (TMA) to support their community based service delivery.
The motorbikes which were donated together with helmets and jackets was in fulfilment of WAHO’s pledge to President Akuffo-Addo when a delegation paid a courtesy call on the President during a familiarization visit to support health delivery in the country.
Deputy Minister of Health, Hon. Kingsley Aboagye-Gyedu excited about WAHO’s gesture towards health improvement in the country expressed gratitude and encouraged other institutions to do same. He urged the Mental Health Authority to consider setting up a Foundation to which individuals, institutions and religious organizations could contribute.
