The International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) led by Pastor Mensa Otabil is set to embark on its 10th annual health walk, dubbed “Life Walk”. The annual event is arguably the longest running and largest single health walk in the country, gathering several tens of thousands of Ghanaians since its inception in March 2005.
This year’s ‘Life Walk’ , slatted for Saturday, 21st March 2015 will be held under the theme, “LET’S WALK FOR LIFE’ with emphasis on the health benefits to participants.
Objectives of the 12km walk is to promote the health and physical well-being of ICGC congregations and members as well as support the Children’s Cancer Unit of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
‘Life walk’ is one of the major social events of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) held every year in Accra and other parts of the country.
The walk starts at 5:30am prompt at ICGC Christ Temple, Abossey Okai and will end at the same venue.
An estimated number of 10,000 people including ICGC assemblies and congregations, Students from Central University College, Accra Polytechnic, University of Ghana and Meridian Pre-University and Management and staff of some corporate organizations are expected to partake in the walk.
Route for the walk is as follows; Christ Temple – Mortuary Road – Lavender Hill – Beach Road – Holy Trinity Cathedral – Old Parliament House – CEPS Head Office – National Theatre – TUC – Ecobank (Farisco) – Graphic Road – Toyota – MTN – Obetsebi Lamptey Roundabout – Christ Temple.
