The Vox is reporting a big salmonella outbreak in the US. The outbreak is reported to have infected over 181 people in 40 states. Its been found that the outbreak is as a result of people getting a little too close to their live poultry — “specifically, kissing and cuddling chicks, chickens, ducks, and ducklings.”
Pneumonia is the world’s leading cause of death in children according to the World Health Organization (WHO). The infectious disease accounts of 15% of all deaths in children under the age of 5 causing an estimated number of 930,000 deaths of Children in the year 2013 alone.
Ghana’s Ministry of Health has denied the country has received a cash amount of $40 million from the World Diabetes Foundation for the purpose of undertaking a five-year national diabetes programme in 2009 at the National Diabetes Management and Research Centre, at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
